Allied Region was a term used to designate semi-independent regions of the galaxy that were part of the Galactic Republic and later galactic governments but enjoyed a high level of autonomy.

There were several definitions that marked these regions as separate entities: domination by a single species; astrographical feature (eg. a nebula); shared culture or history; or common government.
