This glittering dust was used by Hohass Ekwesh, a member of the Galactic Alliance commando unit Wraith Squadron, against a Yuuzhan Vong warrior during the unit's mission to the planet Chashima in 29 ABY. Ekwesh threw the dust toward the young warrior's head, temporarily blinding him. However, the warrior still managed to kill the injured Sandskimmer with his amphistaff before Ekwesh killed him with a vibroblade.
