Ertrax

Ertrax was a Wild Space planet located within the star system of the same name. Ertrax was home to the Ertraxi, a peaceful species of multiple-eyed humanoids who were eager to make contact with other species and cultures.

At some point during the reign of the Galactic Republic, a Republic starship crash-landed on Ertrax, leaving no survivors. The Ertraxi found the wrecked vessel, repaired it over the span of several years, and eventually flew it off-planet in search of other species.

Shortly after that, a group of explorers charting the far reaches of the Minos Cluster found a trail of Cronau radiation left behind by the starship and followed it, leading them to discover Ertrax and make first contact with the aliens. When the group brought news of its discovery back to the wider galactic community, the explorers learned that the information spurred many opportunistic traders, slavers, and would-be conquerors to travel to Ertrax in order to exploit the newly-found world.
