Jestan was a terrestrial planet located in the Jestan system. It was a part of the Expansion Region's Corpheli sector, being located both in the Outer Expansion Zone sub-region and the Northern Dependencies portion of that region. Jestan lay on a hyperlane linking it to the Belukat and Corphelion systems.
At some point by 2 ABY, the Rebel Alliance prevailed on Jestan in a major battle of the Galactic Civil War against the Galactic Empire that became known as the Engagement at Jestan. Between 12 ABY and 13 ABY, Jestan fell within the borders of the New Republic.
