Canon Legends version → Linked from 20 articles
Virujansi was a planet in the Virujansi system of the Inner Rim Territories. It was ruled by the Virujansi council, and defended by the Virujansi Rarified Air Cavalry, until the Galactic Empire arrived and replaced the council's rule with an Imperial governor. The members of the Air Cavalry were given the opportunity to join the Imperial Navy, but some pilots like flight leader Antoc Merrick, and his friend Garven Dreis instead chose to join the Alliance to Restore the Republic, fighting against the Empire during the Galactic Civil War.
Hurst Romodi, who also hailed from Virujansi, was a battle-scarred veteran of the Clone Wars, and he became one first generals in the Imperial Army, serving during pivotal Galactic Civil War battles including Scarif and Endor, and as a member of the Joint Chiefs of the Imperial Military.
In 5 ABY, the Galactic Empire finally fell to the Rebel Alliance, which reorganized into the New Republic, and by 9 ABY Virujansi hosted a prison for the new galactic government, with the Quarren criminal Yath Endidee was serving a 40-year sentence for attempted murder and resisting arrest there.
