Straan Valgar

Straan Valgar was a Gloovan crime boss who ran a small mob on the Port Hunavon space station during the High Republic Era. At some point, Valgar married his partner in crime, fellow Gloovan Muglan Tarantyne, and the two established a base on the jungles of Lanjer, which they considered their new home. Though their marriage did not last, the two kept in touch, occasionally copulating. On Port Hunavon, Valgar arranged rigged fights for audiences to watch and bet on, and he was protected by his Sledfrid bodyguard Môr.

When, in 228 BBY, Muglan kidnapped Trandoshan Jedi Master Sskeer and apprehended the Nihil's Baron Boolan from Jedi captivity, former Nihil-turned bounty hunter Lourna Dee worked with the Jedi to track down Valgar to extract Muglan's location from him. After Jedi Master Keeve Trennis disrupted one of his fights, Valgar was apprehended by the Bivall bounty hunter Quin Carree, who killed Môr and shot out both of Valgar's knees in her interrogation for Muglan's whereabouts. Lourna Dee stopped the Bivall, but resumed the interrogation herself, standing on Valgar's busted knees as leverage. She too was thwarted by the arrival of her ally, Jedi Master Avar Kriss. The Jedi intimidated the Gloovan with her lightsaber, and he folded. She then used a Jedi mind trick to soothe Valgar's pain.

In the aftermath, Valgar's mob impounded Caree's starship and confronted the Jedi team at the hangar bay. The Jedi escaped and continued their pursuit of Muglan.
