Crowning Convocation

Canon Linked from 43 articles

Crowning Convocations were championships held on the planet Siline between the planet's youth every seven to ten planetary years when thermal vents in the continental crust of Siline busted and spewed red metallic vapor into the atmosphere. They were made out of three portions meant to test the strengths and abilities of the combatants—a multi stage dueling tournament, a six day and five nights long survival level in the wilderness, and the great hunt, where the combatants hunted the ericadi, the planet's most fearsome and dangerous predator. If multiple winners emerged, they would duel until only one remained. In earlier times, these competitions had been nationalized competitions meant to test the abilities of the nations' future leaders and had been deadly, but during around the High Republic Era, Siline became unified and the Crowning Convocations became international and more civilized. As such the artificially constructed Survival arena reflected all of Siline's biomes, the duels ended after "first blood", and the ericadi were tagged instead of killed. The winners of these Crowning Convocations received the crystal Convocation crown and had high chances of becoming future government officials, with the members of the Silinese War Council all having had an exceptional showing in the Convocations. Though almost all participants were Silineses, inhabitants of other species between the ages of fifteen and twenty-five could also participate, though they were few. During the Crowning Convocation in 134 BBY the Jedi Padawans Jecki Lon and Yord Fandar also participated and managed to stop a conspiracy during the great hunt.
