Raid on Maul's safe house

Between 17 BBY and around 13 BBY, Captain Brander Lawson led a team of Tactical Defense Force officers to Sector 14-Q— the location of Maul's safe house— to raid a safe house controlled by the crime lord Maul. The goal of the force was to capture Maul and also rescue the criminal Looti Vario, whom Maul was holding hostage. While this was happening, surviving Jedi Master Eeko-Dio Daki and his Padawan Devon Izara—both of whom had tried to lay low on Janix amid the ongoing Great Jedi Purge until they became embroiled in Maul's schemes—snuck into Maul's base in order to put a stop to Maul's criminal dealings on Janix. Maul attempted to make a deal with Lawson in order to avoid getting the attention of the Empire, but Lawson refused. Mandalorian warrior Rook Kast led the attack on Lawson and his officers, killing most of them. While Maul dealt with Daki and Izara. Maul defeated the two Jedi but allowed them to live as part of his plan to turn Izara to his side. He and his forces escaped after Spybot detonated several bombs to take out Lawson's reinforcements. Lawson discovered the two Jedi after the fight and allowed them to escape.
