Operations on Janix

Between 17 BBY and around 13 BBY, the Galactic Empire began operations on Janix after they received reports from the Janix Civil Defense—specifically 2B0T—that former Sith-turned-crime lord Maul was present on the planet. In response, the Empire deployed an Imperial I-class Star Destroyer and placed Janix city under lockdown. Imperial Lieutenant Blake then seized control from the Civil Defense, enabling the Inquisitorius—initially represented by the First Brother—to begin searching for the threat. After the First Brother was defeated in a duel with Maul and Jedi Padawan Devon Izara, he summoned the Eleventh Brother, who joined the hunt.
Upon discovering Maul's forces attempting to flee the planet in the lower levels, Imperial forces pinned down the Shadow Collective Mandalorian super commando mercenaries on an airbridge while Maul was targeted by the two Inquisitors. Kebris and his mercenaries betrayed Maul's lieutenant Rook Kast and stole Maul's Kom'rk-class fighter/transport, the Hex to escape, but were quickly shot down and killed, while Maul was defeated and only escaped from the Inquisitors by bringing down the cave where they had been fighting with telekinesis. Amid the chaos, Maul's prisoner Rylee Lawson was captured by the Imperials, and the Jedi Padawan Devon Izara tried and failed to rescue him. An increasingly exhausted Maul survived and made his way through Janix's sewers to rendezvous with his remaining forces, while Lawson's father—former detective Brander Lawson—rescued his son from the Janix Civil Defense HQ alongside his partner 2B0T, Izara and Izara's Jedi Master Eeko-Dio Daki.
The Lawsons and Jedi tried to flee Janix themselves using a starship provided by Lawson's ally Rheena Sul, but Sul was being forced by Blake and the Inquisitors to lure them into a trap. However, Sul managed to secretly warn Brander Lawson of the trap, and the group escaped the turbolift before it took them straight into the arms of the Imperials. At the same time, Maul shifted his operations to the office of the recently-deceased crime lord Nico Deemis. Deemis' rival, Looti Vario received an encoded message from a representative of Crimson Dawn, Dryden Vos, who wished to speak with Maul.
Upon contacting Maul via hologram, Vos offered safe passage off of Janix in exchange for Maul killing the oblivious to this deal Rintero and installing Vos as the new leader of Crimson Dawn. Maul accepted the offer, and promised to be at the rendezvous place. In need of a pathway through the imperial blockade, Maul reached out through the Force to Izara, who was hiding alongside Daki, Two-Boots and the Lawsons, the elder of which knew a clandestine way out of the city. At the Armistice Fountain Maul offered an alliance, and the group went to a power station in the next district, under which would be an underground fissure - the way out. The Inquisitors follow them with the help of First Brother's Psychometry.
After dispatching the imperial forces guarding the power station and going down a manhole that lead to an acidic lake, they used a skiff which Spybot pushed over the lake and to the other end. Just as the first pair - the Lawsons - crossed the lake, the second pair Looti Vario and Two-Boots crossed as The First and the Eleventh Brother attacked those on the other side. In the ensuing fight, Spybot and Icarus died alongside most of Kast's Mandalorians.
After leaving the sewers, the group entered a foggy swamp. Kast and another Mandalorian scouted ahead, meeting their end at Darth Vader's hand. As Maul, Daki and Izara attacked Vader, the Lawsons and Vario escaped further to the rendezvous point. Shrugging off Izara and Daki, Vader damaged further Maul's right leg and followed the trio.
The Lawsons, Two-Boots and Vario faced more imperials as they passed through the forest, with Vos jumping out of hyperspace and entering the Janix system. Meanwhile, Maul tried to persuade Izara and Daki into using the Dark Side of the Force, for their enemy was a Sith Lord. As Izara reached a ruined bridge, Lord Vader engaged Daki and Maul. On the bridge, Izara faced the First and Eleventh Brothers.
As more imperial forces reinforced in the forest facing the fugitives, Brander proposed to use the deployed E-Web heavy repeating blaster cannon while Vario distracted the TK stormtroopers. Past the bridge Izara fought the Eleventh Brother while on it, Daki managed to push the First Brother off the bridge and joined Maul in fending off Vader. As Maul realized he cannot defeat Lord Vader, he Force pushed Daki closer the the Sith and ran off to help Devon. Realizing he was now alone, Daki desperately faced off Darth Vader and managed to hit him on the shoulder. As Izara escaped the Eleventh Brother, she watched in horror as Lord Vader killed her master. Enraged, she attacked the Eleventh Brother, who in turn pushed her back and separated her from her weapon. Maul arrived and tossed her the original half of his lightsaber which she hit the Eleventh Brother's knee with, causing the latter to run off. Maul saved Devon from Vader's ambush, promising to train her so she exacts her revenge. As Dryden Vos's shuttle arrived, Brander sacrificed himself so his son and comrades could escape, facing off many imperials and disappearing in the fog as Vos and his pilot provided cover fire. In the end, only Vario, 2-B0T, Rylee, Maul and Izara escaped Janix, with the latter becoming Maul's apprentice.
