The Balith system was a star system located within the Northern Dependencies portion of the Inner Rim. It lay on the Vaathkree Trade Corridor hyperspace route. By 21 BBY, the system was a part of the Galactic Republic and a civil war had broken out on the system's astronomical body Balith. That year, Balith's inhabitants requested assistance from the Republic, which dispatched its Third Legion under the command of Jedi General Anakin Skywalker and Clone Captain Rex to provide assistance in the civil war.
