Balith was a terrestrial astronomical object in the Galactic Republic's Balith system. It was situated in the Northern Dependencies portion of the Inner Rim on the Vaathkree Trade Corridor hyperspace route.
A large-scale civil war had started on Balith by 21 BBY, prompting its inhabitants to request assistance from the Republic and the Jedi Order. The Republic responded by dispatching Jedi General Anakin Skywalker and Clone Captain Rex to Balith to command the Third Legion. At the time Skywalker was given the mission, his Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano mentioned that she had not been to Balith before. While she was not allowed to join the mission, Tano did accompany her master to a Nu-class attack shuttle that transported the Jedi General from the planet Coruscant to Balith.
