Separatist holdouts

Separatist holdouts was a term for the various fractured military and political elements of the Confederacy of Independent Systems which continued to remain active after the end of the Clone Wars after the reintegration of former Separatist worlds into the Empire after splitting from the Galactic Republic during the Separatist Crisis. These holdouts were either doubtful of the veracity of the end of the war, loyal to the Separatist cause or were not aware that the fighting had even ended.

After the death of Count Dooku, and the subsequent fall of the military control structure of the remaining leadership, the Confederacy fell across the galaxy to the Republic, and its territory quickly annexed by the subsequent Galactic Empire. However, the Imperial Military viewed Separatist holdouts as a major threat and would send the navy on a series of campaigns in the Western Reaches, where a number of holdouts were openly resisting Imperial authority.
