Gankto tree

The Gankto tree was native to Kothlis. Arblis Forest was primarily composed of Ganktos.

It had a grey trunk that reached 12 meters, with pale leaves. In its later stages of evolution, it had formed a pattern of growth so that only its lowest branches (1 meter off the ground) had foliage.

Eons before the Galactic Civil War, the tree's foliage was home for a bird species which nested in its upper reaches and picked clean the branches. Over time, the tree's leaves came to only grow on the lower branches, leaving the higher ones bare. But as the birds continued to nest in the lowest bush-like leaves, they were vulnerable to myntors and other predators, until they became extinct; the tree thus had formed this pattern of growth.

The millitile inhabited its branches. The plant would also provide nutrition to the symbiospore fungus that covered its upper branches.
