Blaster module

Blaster modules also referred to as blaster cartridges were a type of blaster component that could be quickly swapped in order to alter the firing mode of a blaster pistol. The thief Kay Vess used a light plasma module for her VM-19 heavy blaster pistol during the reign of the Galactic Empire In 3 ABY, Vess constructed additional modules including an ion module configured for burst firing and a power module configured for firing a single bolt while preparing for a heist on the casino planet Cantonica. Following the heist, the pirate Hondo Ohnaka gave Vess a power regulator which she used to construct another ion module that was configured to discharge a powerful shockwave when its ion bolt impacted a target.

During the same year, Vess constructed five other blaster modules for her heavy blaster pistol. These included two more plasma modules, one configured to fire rapidly and the other which fired heavy bolts at a slower rate, one additional ion module who's ion bolts surged on impact, and two additional power modules, the first caused its bolts to detonate on impact and the second which dealt more damage the longer it was charged.
