Neimoidian battle droid

Neimoidian battle droids were types of battle droids that served the Neimoidian species. The simplest of such droids were based upon a skeletal body structure. These simple units could also fold up and quickly be sent into combat. As such, the B1-series battle droid, including its OOM-series mark, was considered one of the simplest Neimoidian battle droids. The B1 had been designed by the Geonosians in their own image and with the specific intention to make the final result resemble a skeletal Geonosian. It was believed a resemblance to walking skeletons would scare enemies who saw B1s approaching them in a march.

Early versions of the B1 model required a connection to a Central Control Computer to function, which was inspired by the hierarchical structure Neimoidians lived under and as a way to save on costs.
