During the Clone Wars, Count Dooku dispatched his apprentice, Sith assassin Asajj Ventress, to capture Outpost 716, which even General Grievous had failed to conquer. Ventress quickly cut down three clone troopers outside before being subdued by Jedi General Mayanka Catrine and Jedi Commander Agustin, unknowingly playing into her hands: Ventress was held captive in the outpost for several days until she confirmed, by overhearing a clone say as such, that Catrine had departed for a new mission. Deducing that both Jedi were gone, Ventress escaped, overcame the base's defenses, and captured it for the Confederacy.
