Graf-Siline Industries Consortium

Canon Linked from 12 articles

The Graf-Siline Industries Consortium was a mining and technology company operated by the Graf family on the planet Siline during the High Republic Era. Founded by a member of the family after around 228 BBY, the company specialized in iflisalt mining. This endeavor brought wealth to the family and supported the Silinese economy. They also ran an initiative to develop synthetic iflisalt. The success of iflisalt mining was influential in motivating the Galactic Republic to begin talks with the Silinese about joining the Republic. The base of operations of the consortium was a multi-building mining facility near the planet's badlands. They also leased many hectares of land beneath the badlands and under a nearby mountain range for their mining operations. The Graf-Siline Industries Consortium curried favor among the Silinese War Council due to its beneficial impact on the planet's economy and a marriage connection between Yrlan Graf and the aunt of Councilmember Parami Inix. This influence waned after the death of the Graf leader in 137 BBY.

By 134 BBY, the Graf-Siline Industries Consortium was run by co-directors Xan and Aneta Graf, but many of the day-to-day mining operations were run by their child Lionine Graf, the youngest of the family. Xan and Aneta's role was focused on developing synthetic iflisalt and handling business considerations. The Graf family developed two proprietary technologies for detecting and extracting iflisalt, which they used extensively.
