The Twins

The Twins, also known as the Hutt Twins, referred to a Hutt brother and sister who were crime lords during the New Republic Era. They were cousins of Tatooine crime lord Jabba Desilijic Tiure, and when Boba Fett usurped the throne of Tatooine from Bib Fortuna as the new Daimyo, the Twins traveled to Mos Espa and confronted Lord Fett, laying claim to Jabba's territory. They were carried on a litter through the streets of Mos Espa, and employed many servants, a drummer, as well as the former-gladiator and bounty hunter Krrsantan.

The Twins sent Black Krrsantan to kill Lord Fett. After Krrsantan's failure and capture, they arrived to apologize to Lord Fett and offer him a rancor as tribute. They also announced their departure from Tatooine, as they'd been informed that Jabba's former holdings had actually been promised to the Pyke Syndicate by Mayor Mok Shaiz, and they had no interest in starting a war over a "worthless rock."

No earlier than 11 ABY, the Twins had returned to Nal Hutta to rule over the Hutt Cartel. They assumed leadership of the cartel's dealings in Jabba's demise, though their claim to the throne was illegitimate due to Jabba's son and sole surviving heir, Rotta. The Twins conspired to kill Rotta to end any debate about their claim to the throne.

The New Republic attempted to foster a working relationship with the Twins and the Hutt Cartel at the same time. As part of these efforts, representatives of the New Republic sought information from the Twins about Imperial warlord Janu Coin and his whereabouts. The Twins promised to provide information about Coin in exchange for the delivery of Rotta from the gladiator pits on the moon Shakari. A hired mercenary working for the New Republic, the Mandalorian Din Djarin, met with the Twins on Nal Hutta to discuss Rotta's rescue, where they purposefully omitted details about Coin's whereabouts on Shakari with the intention of double-crossing Djarin.

After Din Djarin assisted Rotta in securing transport away from Nal Hutta, the Twins managed to capture their first cousin, once removed and place him in a torture device within their throne room. The Twins then hired bounty hunter Embo to capture Din Djarin and bring him to Nal Hutta to pay for his betrayal. The Twins then had Djarin's helmet removed, violating the Way of the Mandalore, before opening a trapdoor below the Mandalorian and dropping him into the lair of their Dragonsnake. After Djarin was rescued by Grogu and a group of Anzellans, the Twins sent their Amani warriors and makeshift droid army, from the Droid Gotra, to search for them.

Din Djarin and Grogu then commandeered the same gunrunner droid's TR-RL3 Terrapin-class bulk tanker that brought Rotta to Nal Hutta and flew it into the Twins' lair. After fighting the sentry droids through the building, Djarin and Grogu reached the Twins' throne room. There, Grogu freed Rotta, Rotta began battling the Twins, Embo began fighting Din Djarin, and Embo's pet anooba Keibu attacked Grogu. Eventually, Grogu was able to subdue Keibu using the Force and Djarin manage to defeat Embo using his new Amban phase-pulse blaster. Rotta also managed to break the trap door to the Dragonsnake's lair, and the Twins fell into the waters below to be eaten by their own pet. Embo abandoned the Twins once the tide of the fight had turned and fled with Keibu through a hole Grogu made earlier with a grav charge. After the battle, Colonel Ward revealed that the Twins were secretly feeding information to the neo-Imperial forces, and as such had been luring Djarin and Grogu into a trap all along.
