Kaleesh mask

Kaleesh masks, also known as Kaleesh war masks, Kaleesh helmets, Kaleesh battle helmets, or Kaleesh warrior helmets, were fearsome ceremonial and war masks worn by the Kaleesh people of Kalee. Traditionally, they were carved from the skulls, bones, and teeth of the planet's most dangerous native predatory, mumuu, erkush, and karabbac.

The masks concealed nearly the wearer's entire head, obscuring most of a Kaleesh's natural feature. Like all Kaleesh helmets, they were distinguished by a row of six-pointed teeth forming the area over the nose and mouth, leaving only the wearer's eyes and prominent tusks visible. Variants existed, with some featuring rounded openings while others had long, horizontal slits spanning much of the mask. Before battle, Kaleesh warriors traditionally adorned their masks with patterns of karabbac-blood war paint above the eyes.

General Grievous modeled his faceplate after the one he wore in his earlier life. Though not Kaleesh himself, Captain Sidon Ithano adopted a red Kaleesh mask to conceal his Delphidian background.
