Blood

Blood was a liquid substance present in most sentient beings, though not all species had the same color of blood. Humans, Togorians, Aqualish, and Iktotchi, for example, had red blood; while Rodians, Duros, Trandoshans, Lokori, and some Pykes had green blood. Other Pykes instead possessed yellow blood as did Geonosians. Kiffar had scarlet blood, Devaronians had black blood and Anzellans had purple blood.

By testing a sample of someone's blood, it was possible to get a midi-chlorian count and determine how sensitive one was to the Force. Human blood was said to have a characteristic metallic taste. Bloodburn was a rare blood disease that affected some starship pilots. The emotions of sentient beings of flesh and blood were driven by chemicals in their bloodstream. However, stone-based beings who had no blood, such as the Kakran, processed information differently and did not experience strong emotions, such as fear. Karabbac blood was used by Kaleesh warriors to smear their fearsome masks as war paint before battle. Poisons could also seriously harm humans if they entered into their bloodstream.
